BASIC POLICY

Basic policy

  • In principle, an initial consultation is conducted in person. Online care cannot provide palpation, auscultation, or on-the-spot testing and may not provide sufficient diagnosis or treatment for every symptom. An initial visit is provided online only when the doctor can obtain sufficient medical information—such as medical history, medication history, and allergies—from referral documents, health-check results, medication records, or similar sources, and judges that online care is appropriate.
  • For follow-up visits as well, the doctor carefully decides whether each online consultation is appropriate. If online care is not suitable, care will be switched to an in-person visit.
  • Online care is provided when the patient understands its benefits and possible disadvantages and requests it. It is not used primarily for research or solely for the convenience of the doctor.

Item explainedDetails

Scope of online care

The doctor will explain the condition and main symptoms. Care may include medical history, visual observation, review of medicines and test results, lifestyle guidance, consideration of prescriptions, and advice on seeking in-person care.

Combining online and in-person care

Before an initial online visit, we review the questionnaire, medical history, medicines, and available clinical information. We switch to in-person care when examination or testing is needed, symptoms do not improve, or the condition changes.

Appointments

Book in advance using the LINE reservation system provided through march. LINE, march messaging, or telephone may be used for appointment coordination and related communication.

Device and communication

The patient uses a smartphone with a camera and microphone. The consultation is conducted in real time using video and audio.

Costs

In addition to the consultation fee, prescription or medicine charges, system fees, and delivery fees may apply. Insurance-covered care follows the patient’s copayment rate; private care is charged at the amount explained in advance. The patient is responsible for communication charges.

When online care will not be provided

We will not start or will stop online care when sufficient information cannot be obtained; a physical examination, test, or procedure is needed; acute deterioration is suspected; identity or privacy cannot be confirmed; communication fails; or the doctor otherwise considers online care inappropriate.

Information patients should provide

Please accurately report symptoms, medical history, allergies, possible pregnancy, prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, and supplements. When requested, provide temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, test results, or photographs where possible.

Urgent illness or deterioration

If an emergency is suspected, online care will be stopped and emergency assistance or prompt in-person care will be recommended. When our clinic cannot provide the required care, we will introduce a nearby clinic or general hospital that is accessible to the patient, including at night or on holidays.

Information security

We use an online consultation system selected and maintained in accordance with applicable information-security requirements. Patients should use a secure device and network, avoid public Wi-Fi, protect passwords, and receive the consultation in a private place.

Handling recordings and images

As a rule, neither the clinic nor the patient records the consultation. If photographs or test results must be stored in the medical record, their purpose and handling will be explained.

IN-PERSON CARE

When online care changes to in-person care

If the doctor decides that an in-person examination is necessary, we will recommend a visit to our clinic or a nearby medical institution or general hospital that is convenient for the patient. In an emergency, call 119 without waiting for the online connection or a response from the clinic.
